A mother has been told by a judge that she can not have teaching material shown to her daughter in a sex education lesson released publicly.
Clare Page, 47, lost her case to have the details divulged under freedom of information law. She said she would continue her fight to obtain the lesson plan used by School of Sexuality Education, a charity that provides classes to about 300 schools.
Page began her campaign after her daughter, then 15, came home from Hatcham College in New Cross, southeast London, saying that she had been taught to be “sex positive” and that heteronormativity was “a bad thing”.

Last year Jonathan* was pulled out of a work meeting by his tearful 12 year old daughter. “She was incoherent on the phone because she was so upset,” he recalled. “She was having a panic attack. Once she calmed down, she said she had been taught things at school that she didn’t think were true.”
The youngest, who attends a London girls’ school, said she had been taught about gender identity, including that children as young as three could be giving off signals that they are transgender.
